INDIAN WELLS, California - Former world number one Martina Hingis recalled the best of her glory days today, as she sent second-seeded Lindsay Davenport packing at the Pacific Life Open tennis chamnpionships.
Comeback queen Hingis triumphed 6-3 1-6 6-2 over the current world number four, in the first meeting between the old foes since Hingis returned in January from three years on the tennis sidelines.
The Swiss, seeded 19th, advanced to a quarter-final clash with Russian Dinara Safina, who ousted fifth-seeded compatriot Anastasia Myskina 6-1, 6-3.
