KEY POINTS:
There's a simple difference between tennis glamour girls Ana Ivanovic and Anna Kournikova, and Ivanovic is more than happy to point it out.
"I won a couple of titles and my main goals I have out on the tennis court," Ivanovic said yesterday.
Ivanovic, who is likely to move up a spot to world number three next week, has won five WTA Tour titles and a French Open final, thank you very much.
She has set up camp in Sydney over summer to help acclimatise herself for the Australian Open.
Kournikova, the Russian part-time model who retired in 2004, never managed a single WTA tournament win.
"I think any woman doesn't like to be compared, so neither do I, especially when what we have in common was we both play tennis," the 20-year-old Serb said.
But Ivanovic's supermodel looks, Unicef work and charm have combined to ensure there is plenty of life for her away from the tennis court.
"There is not much glamour going on," she said after bowing out of the semifinals of the Sydney International, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 to Justine Henin. "I spend most of my days practising hard on the tennis court." Still, her internet site claims to be "officially the number one visited website of all female sports stars".
"I don't take it too serious," she said. "People know me for how I play tennis and the way you look doesn't help you win points."
Ivanovic produced her best performance against world number one Henin yesterday, taking a set off the Belgian for the first time in their four meetings.
"She's been more consistent ... she didn't make as many mistakes," Henin said. "She played really solid and I could feel a difference from our last meetings."
