New Zealand women's tennis No 1 Marina Erakovic has scored two wins at the US$25,000 ($40,479) Grado event in Italy.
Erakovic won her first round singles, beating the world's 291st- ranked Spaniard Paula Garcia 6-1, 7-5.
She will now play sixth-seed and former junior rival Madalina Gojnea of Romania, ranked 244.
In the doubles, Erakovic and Croatian Sanja Ancic won their first- round match, beating Mauritius player Marinne Giraud and Swede Michaela Johansson 6-2, 6-1.
