KEY POINTS:
Fresh from her appearance at the Australian Open, Marina Erakovic will spearhead the New Zealand team at the Fed Cup Asia Oceania zone competition in Perth next month.
World No 68 Erakovic will be a key figure in a team that also includes Sacha Jones, Kairangi Vano and Di Hollands for the women's tournament from February 4-7.
Vano and Hollands will make their Fed Cup debuts, having been dominant figures on the New Zealand domestic circuit this summer.
Jones has completed an intensive block of training in Florida which saw her decline a wildcard invitation for this month's ASB Classic tournament in Auckland.
Erakovic this week reached the second round of the Australian Open, the same outcome she achieved at the ASB Classic.
Not selected from last year's team that came within a point of winning are Ellen Barry and Leanne Baker.
Barry is recovering from a long-term injury while Baker is in the "semi-retirement phase of her decorated Fed Cup inclusive career" according to a New Zealand Tennis release.
Also new to the New Zealand team are captain Marcel Vos and coach/manager Peter Lumsden.
Seven other teams are entered in the group two event - Australia, Thailand, India, Uzbekistan, Korea, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia.
The winning teams from two pools of four will play off for a place in the world group two playoffs in April.
