New Zealand women's tennis No 1 Marina Erakovic has suffered a second round loss in the US$50,000 ($71,000) ITF event in Beijing.
The Auckland 17-year-old lost to Chinese seventh seed Zi Yan 7-5 6-7 (4) 6-4.
With Erakovic's quota of Asian tournaments completed, she now heads to Europe to play junior Wimbledon and other events.
Erakovic has a current world ranking of 269 which should improve on Monday night by at least 20 places when the new rankings are released.
Meanwhile, Davis Cup squad member G D Jones has won his way into the second round of the US$15,000 Futures at Woodlands, California.
Jones beat fellow qualifier Carlos Palencia of Mexico 6-3 6-3 and now faces another Mexican, seventh seed Bruno Echagary who is ranked 333rd in the world.
