KEY POINTS:
Second-seeded New Zealander Marina Erakovic has been toppled in the second round of an ITF tenis tournament in Monzon, Spain.
Erakovic went down 3-6 6-7 in the US$75,000 ($95,008) tournament to Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic, putting a dent in her buildup for next month's French Open.
The Aucklander, who has a career-high world ranking of 86, intends to play a number of clay court tournaments to prepare for the Grand Slam tournament.
She now planned to return to her training base in the Netherlands.
Her next tournament will either be the Estoril Open in Portugal next week or a lower-tier event in Fes, Morocco, starting on April 28.
