Marina Erakovic of New Zealand has scored a clearcut win over Australian Bryanne Stewart to make the semifinals of the US$25,000 Gosford Challenger in Australia.
Erakovic, the tournament third seed with a ranking of 220, defeated Stewart 6-2 6-2 to set up a match against second seed Yung-Jan Chan of Taipei today, who is currently ranked at 197.
In doubles, Leanne Baker and Italian partner Francesca Lubiani were defeated in the semifinals for the second week in a row by the same pair, top seeds Chan and Chia Jung Chuang of Taipei 6-4 6-1.

At the US$15,000 Wollongong men's Futures, New Zealand No1 Mark Nielsen, the tournament fourth seed, beat eighth seeded Taiwanese player Ti Chen in the quarter-finals 6-4 6-3 to set up a clash later today against Japan's Satoshi Iwabuchi.
Iwabuchi has an ATP ranking of 347 and has beaten Nielsen on the three previous occasions they have played.
