Russian tennis star Nadia Petrova could be ranked as high as sixth in the world when she contests next year's ASB Classic in Auckland after being guaranteed a berth in the season-ending Tour Championships yesterday.
World No 9 Petrova earned a place in the lucrative tournament for the world's leading eight players when Belgian Justine Henin-Hardenne pulled out, citing lack of preparation.
The news came on top of Petrova's breakthrough WTA singles title in Austria on Monday.
