Croatian number one Ivan Ljubicic has set a quarterfinals date with rising star Marcos Baghdatis at the Australian Open.
In the late match on centre court last night, Ljubicic toppled Sweden's former Open champion Thomas Johansson in straight sets, 6-2 6-4 6-4.
Johansson never really settled, missing a large proportion of his first serves. By contrast, Ljubicic, who has had a great last month - helping to win the Davis Cup for Croatia and winning a tournament in India last week - looked to be doing things easily.
Earlier in the day, Baghdatis, from the tiny Mediterranean island of Cyprus, had stunned 2nd seed Andy Roddick of the US in four sets.
