All the New Zealand junior players have got off to a great start in the Australian Open in Melbourne.
All three kiwi players had wins in the first round yesterday, with Auckland 15-year-old Sacha Jones scoring a 3-6 6-3 6-2 win over Uzbek, Dilyara Saidkhodyayeva in a late match.
"I started playing really nervously and not playing my game. In the second set I decided to go for it when I had the opportunity. In the third I just decided to come in and mix it up and just be aggressive," said Jones.
"I had been looking forward to this for a long time and wanted to win a round and now the next round and hopefully further into the tournament," said Jones who only turned 15 in November 2005.
She now faces third seed Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia.

The Canterbury 17-year-old accounted for Corinna Dentoni (ranked at 50) of Italy 6-4 6-4.
