Unseeded Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has advanced to his first grand slam final, obliterating world No 2 Rafael Nadal in straight sets in their Australian Open semi-final on Rod Laver Arena tonight.
Tsonga upset Nadal 6-2 6-3 6-2 in one hour and 57 minutes, playing top quality tennis throughout to humble the Spaniard.
The Frenchman hit 49 clear winners, finishing his demolition with an ace to serve out the match.
World No.38 Tsonga now plays the winner of tomorrow night's semi-final between world No 1 Roger Federer and third seed Novak Djokovic in Sunday's final.
