KEY POINTS:
The two reserve days scheduled in round one of the Louis Vuitton Cup have already been gobbled up with racing postponed for the second consecutive day after the wind failed to build once again.
Not a good look for organisers who selected the venue for its "reliable breeze".
The forecast is not looking much better for the rest of the week with light winds expected to plague the Mediterranean coast until at least Sunday.
The problem is a recent cold snap that has prevented the land from warming up to create a sea breeze.
The land temperature has increased during the past few days which should, hopefully, help relieve the situation.
However, yachting commentator Peter Lester said it would take time.
"Today was 21 degrees out on the water and, on the hills, it was 20 degrees. To get a sea breeze, you need it hotter on the land than on the water."
Tomorrow, which was a reserve day, will now become a race day with races scheduled for the opening day taking place.
The second reserve day on Monday will feature the postponed races from day two.
Tuesday is a day off and, if round one is not completed the day before, teams will have to race twice a day during round two.
Tuesday also signals the end of the no-change period. The challengers will have 24 hours to make changes to their boats or switch them.
Emirates Team New Zealand were scheduled to race hometown favourites Espanol Desafio and South Africa's Shosholoza overnight.
