Team New Zealand entered the Valentine's Day spirit yesterday with cook Gretel Jack including pistachio heart-shaped shortbread biscuits in the crew's lunch boxes along with "kumara ham" and "roast peach pride" sandwiches. All crew pay $8 for their lunches which must be ordered in advance.

Team New Zealand will leave the dock at around 10 o'clock this morning but not before they have gone through their regular "slip, slap, slop" sunscreen routine. With headwear in place, the crews will then board NZL81 and NZL82 for the tow out to the race course.

Asked if the Alinghi syndicate had already started thinking about the future, skipper Russell Coutts was as confident as ever. "Obviously, as does any professional sports team, we've prepared the ground for the future, but our focus right now is on the America's Cup Match."
