After wearing a "Loyal" T-shirt during race one and two of the cup, a disheartened Team New Zealand fan opted for a blue shirt for race three.
When asked why he wasn't wearing his familiar shirt for the crucial third race, the fan replied: "I wore it during the first two races and it didn't do any good. So I decided to change as I thought it might have been a bad omen or something."
Seems the T-shirt wasn't the problem.

Will 13 be unlucky for Alinghi skipper Russell Coutts heading into race four of the cup?
Coutts has won all 12 America's Cup races he has sailed in. He won five with Team New Zealand in 1995, four with Team New Zealand in 2000 and three so far in this series.
The question is can he secure his unlucky 13th today. Team New Zealand fans hope not.

Legendary designer Olin Stephens got a pleasant surprise when he was out on the Hauraki Gulf for Tuesday's racing.
He saw Auckland sailing identity Doug Bremner's 60ft yacht Ta'Aroa on the harbour.
"That's one of my babies," said the 94-year-old from New York, with fatherly pride.
Stephens' connection with New Zealand in the 1960s extended to designing Rainbow, which won fame as a One Ton Cup champion.

Film-maker Nicolas Wadimoff is filming a 52-minute documentary called Inside the Team which follows the journey of Alinghi through to the final stages of the cup.
The documentary covers the tension, the drama as well as joy involved in a cup campaign.
It follows the daily lives of several key people in the team "who carry the determined message of desired victory" according to an Alinghi press release.
"What interests me in filming such a competition as the America's Cup is that it comes closer to the stakes of dramatic fiction than just factual reporting," Wadimoff said.
"This film will be an emotional thriller which will show, like a tightrope walker forever balancing on a thin cord, the limits between passion and excess."
Unfortunately for New Zealanders, the documentary is only being shown in France and Germany.
Continuous coverage of today's America's Cup race will begin on nzherald.co.nz at 12.30pm.
