Alinghi's "cow" bulb caused a ripple of amusement, with its fake horns, tail and black-and-white friesian paint job when SUI-64 was unveiled this morning.
The boat, sported a long rudder, and the bulb's winglets were placed midway between the centre and rear of the bulb.
Team New Zealand designer Mike Drummond said the length of the rudder was slightly unusual.
"I thought the Alinghi boat was a good all-round boat.
"It is probably slower downwind and probably faster upwind, probably faster in heavy airs and slower in light airs."
