OneWorld skipper Peter Gilmour said he would be surprised if Team New Zealand failed to make an appearance at the next cup - always assuming, of course, they lose it this time.
There have been concerns that Team New Zealand simply wouldn't be able to raise enough funds to travel to Europe to challenge.
"I think that certainly Team New Zealand will mount a challenge - I don't think there are any ifs or buts about that," he said. "There is going to be a lot of pent-up anger that is going to have to be vented in some way. Rather than let people be angry, let them speak with their feet."
Gilmour swiftly rejected the idea of a joint Australian and New Zealand team: "that will never happen."

A Team New Zealand fan wasn't at all worried about yet another postponement yesterday.
"If the regatta doesn't finish on time I guess that just means the cup stays in New Zealand," the fan innocently remarked.
Unfortunately not.
If racing is not completed before the March 6 deadline it will just continue until one of the teams secures five wins in the best of nine series.

Just when you thought the weather couldn't possibly get any worse for yacht racing, news comes that a low pressure system, which has brought heavy rain to Australia in the past few days, is on its way to Auckland.
If it arrives in full force, the boats may not leave their docks today, tomorrow or Thursday.
Team New Zealand meteorologist Roger Badham has nicknamed the low "the America's Cup Special".
"The first few races were pretty good and then we get a string of bad days - it's the nature of the beast," Badham said on the Team New Zealand website.
So far in this cup match, three days have been abandoned because of fickle breezes.

Just in case you have quite got the message that Alinghi are happy to sail in any conditions on the team's website strategist Jochen Schuemann reiterates: "We want the fourth race to go ahead! Whether it is heavy winds, light winds ... we have proved that that we can race in any condition," Schuemann said.
All right, enough already.
