We enjoy catching up with the racing via the NZ Herald website and we just want to say that no matter what happens in the racing, we're proud to have been represented by Loyal team members like Tom and Dean.
Thank you for staying true to your country. That makes you the real winners no matter who holds the cup.
Brian and Kate Hutton. London.

I believe Team New Zealand will win this series with panache. The start of it has only heightened the sense of drama, as well as cast your nation in the underdog role. So be it. As the great Hernando Cortez once quipped - in the face of unbelievable odds, with death as the penalty for loss - the greater the Moors, the greater the spoils. So much greater the glory to be had now, and truly confirm Kiwi sailing mettle.
All the best from sunny Florida. Christopher P. Benischek.

For Team NZ , Dean and the NZL82 crew:
I am a proud kiwi getting up at 1.30am here in Germany to watch the Black Boat and her fortunes, fevering every metre on the gulf with you guys.
Hold your heads high. You're up against the best and if anyone can beat the 'Swiss' then it's you. Time for a little Black Magic! Good wind and sail hard.
Gordon Merredew.

To Dean and all of Team New Zealand:
Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal.
Go guys! We are quietly confident of your success. The qualities you all possess, and have displayed throughout this event, have the hearts of three expatriate Kiwis bursting with pride.
Rae, Randi & Alan Staight. Vancouver Island.

As a Kiwi living in Melbourne for the past eight years, I purposely bought a new black VT Commodore after we defended the cup last time against Prada. I adorned it with a Team NZ sticker on the bumper and back window. My car is called Black Magic.
This has been spat on. I've had the two-finger salute and been jeered by red-neck Aussies. But this doesn't bother me, as I live in a country that couldn't defend the cup.
On the other hand I've had toots, chants of "Go Kiwi" and "Go Team New Zealand", and various messages of support traced onto my dusty car.
Boys, do your best. Kiwis all around the world are right behind you - but win or lose I'll never remove my stickers, because I'm proud of you.
Andrew Dickie. St Kilda, Melbourne.

The boat is good, the team are great, go Team NZ, it's not too late.
Keep sailing hard, on your faces a grin, remember the Auld Mug . . .
It's within your power TO WIN!!

To Tom, Dean and Team New Zealand:
You always enjoy the triumphs more when you've had to experience the tribulations on the journey.
And we see nothing but triumphs on the horizon ahead. The New Plymouth District Council and the people of Taranaki are right behind you guys. We're proud of you all and loyal to the end.
Go The Black Boat!
Mayor Pete Tennent and the New Plymouth District Council.

May you all do your best and give it your all as we know that you can do it!!!
It will be us that get to 5 before them, and then we can all celebrate the wonderful job you guys have done and show them that money isn't everything but spirit and courage and bravery and loyalty are.
GO FOR IT TEAM NEW ZEALAND.
Leoni Parkinson.

With Dean's eyes so tired and a face so sad, New Zealanders are right behind you, so Team NZ, don't feel bad.
After you rekindle your thoughts, I know you will fight hard and make Alinghi pay.
Hold your heads up high and please don't spoil the thought of how proud New Zealand is of you, Team New Zealand, for being so loyal.
A Proud NZer.
