Former All Black coach Laurie Mains is excited at the prospect of passing on his coaching expertise to his old province.
Mains has signed a one-year contract with the Otago Rugby Union to coach the NPC team in 2001 and will work alongside newly named assistant coaches Greg Cooper and Wayne Graham.
Mains says his priority is to develop the coaching skills of the two former All Blacks so they will be able to take over from him the following year.
He says Cooper and Graham are very knowledgeable about the game and will make fine coaches.
