SYDNEY - South Sydney captain Roy Asotasi has been charged with making dangerous contact in Monday night's NRL match against the Sydney Roosters.
The New Zealand international was charged after appearing to contact Roosters hooker Jake Friend with his knees late in the Rabbitohs' 40-20 win at ANZ Stadium.
Asotasi can escape any ban if he takes an early guilty plea but will face a one-match suspension if he challenges the charge and is found guilty.
South Sydney have until midday Wednesday to decide whether to contest the charge or not.
In other judiciary news, Melbourne's Adam Blair and Gold Coast back-rower Anthony Laffranchi have both entered early guilty pleas on their dangerous throw charges and will miss this weekend's matches.
