KEY POINTS:
Bill MacGowan, who has previously run the Warriors rugby league club and New Zealand Soccer, was yesterday appointed chief executive of New Zealand Golf on an open ended contract.
He will become NZG's fifth boss in eight years, inheriting the position from Larry Graham, who followed his predecessor Peter Dale in seeking early relief from the burdens of office at the organisation's Wellington headquarters by resigning.
MacGowan has spent the past nine months as general manager of the North Shore Golf Club in Auckland.
