Wanganui trainer Kevin Myers is favouring a start in the $70,000 Easter Cup (1600m) for Titch at Riccarton tomorrow.
Titch, last-start winner of the Auckland Cup, is also an acceptor for the $18,000 Founders Cup (2000m).
He heads the field with 59.5kg in the Easter Cup and has 59kg in the 2000m race.
"His race will depend on the track. If the track gets better he will run over 2000m," Myers said.
The track was a slow (9) yesterday, which is bordering on heavy.
Apprentice Lisa Whelan has been declared to ride him in both races. Whelan is on loan to the Wanganui stable from Sally and Ben Gordon at Invercargill. She rode Titch two starts back to finish second in the Nathans Memorial (2200m) at Ellerslie.
Myers would like to see Whelan win as he has been impressed with her ability.
She has won two races in Southland including at her first race ride on The Hammerhead.
Titch won a rating 90 1600m fresh up at Wanganui in October.
He won an open 2000m and finished second to Showcause in the NZ Cup at Riccarton in November.
