STOCKHOLM (AP) Swedish Alpine skier Jens Byggmark will miss the Sochi Olympics in February after tearing knee ligaments in a training fall.
The slalom silver medalist at the 2011 world championships tells Swedish media that his rehabilitation will take six months.
He is to undergo surgery on Friday.
Byggmark was injured when training in giant slalom at Saas-Fee, Switzerland.
The 28-year-old slalom specialist finished eighth in the World Cup discipline standings last season, with a best finish of third at Levi, Finland.
