BEAVER CREEK, Colorado (AP) U.S. women's head coach Alex Hoedlmoser remains hopeful that Lindsey Vonn's ailing right knee will be ready for a return in Lake Louise, Alberta.
Hoedlmoser said Tuesday that Vonn's presence in the starting gate in Lake Louise on Dec. 6 is "up to her. She's the only one who knows how her knee feels."
The four-time overall World Cup champion was supposed to make her return this week from a serious knee injury she suffered in a crash last February.
After hurting her knee again in a training mishap last week she wiped out going from sunshine into shade Vonn will sit this week out.
The competition continues as the rest of the field receives their first glance at the steep course in a training run Tuesday.
