KEY POINTS:
New Zealand Post director Sara Lunam will chair the world netball championships board, Netball New Zealand (NNZ) announced today.
Waitakere's Trusts Stadium will host the world championships from November 10-17 after Fiji was stripped of the hosting rights last December in the wake of the military coup there.
Lunam's role includes oversight of the championships board, which comprises two representatives from the Netball New Zealand board and two appointed members.
She is now working through the final stages of appointing the general manager for the world championships, with the appointment expected later this month.
Lunam's corporate career includes executive roles in New Zealand and Australia. She now runs her own strategic and management advisory business and is on the board of NZ Post and a subsidiary, and is a trustee of the Pacific Business Trust.
"We're pleased to have secured the expertise of such an experienced business and governance professional," NNZ chairman Don Mackinnon said today. "Sara's leadership will be invaluable," he said.
