The New Zealand under-21 side put a shaky first-up win over Botswana behind them to record a decisive 71-20 win over Northern Ireland in the third day of the World Youth Cup in Fort Lauderdale.
New Zealand have a bye today then face Antigua and Barbuda tomorrow and Wales in their final pool game on Wednesday.
The teams are then regrouped and play continues to find the semifinalists and finalists.
New Zealand are favourites to win the 10-day tournament, but a less than dominant performance against minnows Botswana in their opening match was hardly the start they were looking for.
They did however bounce back yesterday to wallop Northern Ireland, with a scoreline most would have expected them to rack up against Botswana instead of the 54-27 they achieved.
New Zealand captain Laura Langman concedes her side were a little disappointed after the Botswana match and said they were too slow in clamping down on their relatively unknown rivals.
"They played a very different style of netball than we are used to so it took us a little time to adjust. They played a typical Caribbean style in that they ran absolutely everywhere and unless you dictated and blocked them from going there, then they went there.
"They did a lot of one-handed passes. They had nothing to lose and they definitely went out there knowing that."
She said her side were keen to make amends for their ordinary start which they did yesterday in completely dominating Northern Ireland.
"We had a far better game and consolidated some of the set plays that we were aiming to produce. We are feeling good and we are in a good position.
"Each game I think we are improving and lifting the bar and at this stage in the tournament I think that is the way to go. You don't want to show your cards too early do you?"
Langman said everyone was getting court time and the combinations were "coming along nicely".
She said with the stadium air-conditioned the heat had not been an issue.
"It is two different environments when you walk into the stadium and walk outside. I don't think the weather is fazing us very much, which is good."
