Four franchises are seeking the services of Canterbury Flames and Silver Ferns shooter Jodi Te Huna for the 2005 National Bank Cup netball competition.
The franchises include the Flames and Te Huna's old Capital Shakers outfit.
Te Huna suggested the interest in signing her reflected the lack of depth in New Zealand shooting at present.
"It's nice to be wanted, isn't it?" she said.
The 23-year-old confirmed that Ferns coach Ruth Aitken had recommended all her players make a decision before going into the October 16-19 camp in Auckland.
But Te Huna was hopeful of making her decision before then.
She said she had not yet narrowed down her options, and had "a lot of working through" to do.
She was looking at her long-term career, including the 2007 world championships in Suva and the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, and working out where it would be best to achieve those goals.
After playing five cup seasons with the Shakers, the Wanganui-born netballer has been in Flames colours for the last two.
She and fellow Fern Belinda Colling were a formidable shooting combination for the Flames, averaging 86 per cent and 87 per cent respectively in the last cup competition.
Colling was unable to commit to the Flames when she left for Edinburgh at the end of July, but a space could be left for her in the training squad just in case she does become available.
Te Huna is now working for the Canterbury Development Corporation as a Maori career adviser for secondary school students.
She was co-captain with Vilimaina Davu of Canterbury, who finished seventh at the recent national championships in Palmerston North.
Te Huna noted that the red-and-blacks had lost by only two and one to Auckland-Waitakere and Otago respectively, and could easily have finished third overall.
