Lois Muir is quietly optimistic Otago will hit the ground running despite struggling in a pre-season netball tournament at the weekend.
The Rebels won one of four games at an event in Te Awamutu featuring six national league teams.
They came from behind in impressive fashion to beat the Northern Force 44-38, but were upset by the Flyers 24-38 and well beaten by the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic 51-42 and the Canterbury Flames 39-27.
Muir said the weekend had been productive.
"I'm quite pleased.
"The girls have had a good wake-up and I think we'll be more than ready for the Force."
