Jamaican netball coach Janet Guy says a lack of fitness has been her side's biggest barrier in their test series against Australia in Kingston.
Australia have a two-nil lead in the series - backing up their 47-38 first victory with a more convincing 59-44 win yesterday.
The final test is tomorrow before Jamaica face the even more arduous challenge of the Silver Ferns - who recently crushed Australia by 25 points - in a tri-series with Barbados.
"We haven't started thinking about New Zealand," Guy said. "We are using these games to see what we need to work on for the Commonwealth Games. It is clear already we have a lot of work to do on our reaction time and our fitness."
The Jamaicans started strongly in both games - they led Australia in the first quarter of the first test and trailed by just five at halftime yesterday - but were unable to sustain it.
Guy said Australia were quick to decipher the Jamaicans' game plan in the second test but her team helped them along by handing over far too much ball.
"We had a lot of turnovers and the turnovers were probably due to our legs not moving as good as they should, and when you are tired you start making errors. That has been our downfall.
"Our girls struggled to keep up with the pace of the game and that is something that we have to work on if we want to do well in the Commonwealth Games."
Australia used three shooters in the match. Sharelle McMahon landed 25 of Australia's 59 goals and Eloise Southby-Halbish and Catherine Cox secured 17 each.
For Jamaica, Elaine Davis was the top scorer, nailing 26. Jodie-Ann French secured 12 and 1.96m youngster Romelda Aitken six.
Aitken was the most accurate shooter at the recent world youth championship in Florida, where she enjoyed an 88 per cent success rate.
Guy said Aitken was a promising player but still had a lot to learn.
"At the moment she is just cruising. She is young ... I don't think she knows what is happening yet. She just goes out there and plays."
* The Silver Ferns leave for Kingston today.
Their first match in the tri-series is against Jamaica next Monday at 10.15am.
