Australian netball captain Liz Ellis has closed the door on her slim hopes of recovering from knee surgery in time for the Commonwealth Games title defence in March.
Despite a speedy recuperation from tearing anterior ligaments on October 29, Ellis has decided not to risk rupturing her knee by coming back too early.
The sidelined captain yesterday set next May as the target to get back on court for her club side Sydney Swifts.
