Australian netball coach Norma Plummer has banned her Melbourne-based players from taking part in a practice match ahead of next week's test in Sydney.
New Zealand were due to play Melbourne Phoenix tonight in Melbourne, but that match was cancelled because Phoenix could not field a team.
Plummer told Australian vice-captain Sharelle McMahon, Eloise Southby-Halbish and Natasha Chokljat they could not play as they would have been overloaded.
State League team Melbourne Central have agreed to play instead of the Phoenix.
