KEY POINTS:
Australia defeated world No 3 Jamaica 72-53 in a physical netball test in Sydney yesterday, despite Jamaica's strong defence and sharp shooting from teenager Romelda Aiken, who scored a game-high 42 goals.
Australia's Sharelle McMahon was named player of the match after scoring 34 goals from 36 attempts. The win is a boost to Australia before their three-test series against New Zealand, which starts in Auckland on July 18. New Zealand play Jamaica in the first of two tests in Christchurch on Thursday. The second is in Auckland on Saturday.
