Tim Wilkinson has delivered a harsh lesson to his young playing partner at US Open qualifying in the States.
While the Kiwi left hander is off to his first major championship at Oakmont next week, teenager Won Jun Lee has been left wondering what might have been.
The 17-year-old amateur was in contention for a top four spot and a start in the Open, until he repaired a pitch mark behind his ball on the 11th green which is against the rules.
Wilkinson spotted the error and called in an official, with Lee subsequently handed a two shot penalty.
He eventually finished at five under par, two shots off direct entry into next week's field.
