New Zealand golfer Tim Wilkinson was in a tie for second but three shots off the pace with one round remaining in the Oregon Classic in the United States yesterday.
The left-hander carded a two-under 70 to improve to 12-under overall in the US$450,000 ($659,920) secondary Nationwide Tour event at the Shadow Hill Country Club.
However, he couldn't match the 67 shot by American Jeff Gove. Gove's 15-under tally has him three clear of Wilkinson and two other Americans, Kris Cox and Jamie Broce.
New Zealand's Grant Waite improved two places to 22nd on five-under after shooting 70 yesterday while Steve Alker carded 71 to move to one-under.
