KEY POINTS:
New Zealand golfer Tim Wilkinson is in line for another healthy collect on the PGA Tour in the United States.
A four-under-par 68 today lifted him from 33rd to a share of seventh place after the second round of the US$6.2 million ($7.81 million) New Orleans Classic in Louisiana.
He was on five-under 139 for the tournament, just three shots back of the leader, American Briny Baird.
That was more than enough to ensure Wilkinson made the second-round cut for the fifth time in eight outings in his rookie season on the tour.
He is coming off a tie for sixth in the Puerto Rico Open last week which saw him pocket US$117,000, the biggest pay cheque of his career.
Wilkinson today made up ground on the leaders with a round which featured five birdies, three of them on the back nine, against a lone bogey at the par-four sixth hole.
