New Zealander Grant Waite faded in the closing stages of the Mark Christopher Charity Classic at Rancho Cucamonga in California yesterday to finish fourth. Waite couldn't maintain his form from the first three rounds which saw him shoot 68, 67 and 66 to share third place going into the last day of the second tier Nationwide Tour event.
He had to settle for a final round even par 71 and fourth place on 272. American Kevin Na posted a final round two-under 69 for 268 and a three-shot win over compatriots Chris Tidland and Jeff Quiney.
Michael Long finished strongly with a final round 67 but his 282 left him in a tie for 54th, while Steve Alker and Tim Wilkinson failed to make the cut.
