SUN CITY - New Zealand's Lynnette Brooky and Elizabeth McKinnon finished with a share of 10th place when the Women's World Cup of golf ended on today.
The New Zealand duo carded a one-over 73 in the alternate shot tournament at the Gary Player Country Club for a three-round total of 296 -- 17 shots adrift of winners Paraguay.
Brooky and McKinnon were eighth among 21 nations entering the final round but were overhauled by Wales and England before sharing 10th with Finland.
Julieta Granada and Celeste Troche fired a seven-under-par 65 in the final round to romp to a seven-stroke win on a nine-under 279.
The competition debutants, who began the day four shots clear, bogeyed the first hole before regrouping with four birdies in the next seven holes.
Troche, 25, sealed victory by chipping in at the 17th hole and birdying the 18th.
United States finished second on 286 with South Korea (287) third. Italy and Scotland shared fourth spot.
South Korea threatened a late charge with birdies at the 15th and 16th but Kim Young then found a ditch and they double-bogeyed the 17th.
