Three New Zealand golfers have made the cut in the rain-affected final Asian qualifying School in Malaysia.
Mathew Holten, Wellington, Kevin Chun, Auckland, and Brad Iles, Mt Maunganui, have all qualified for the final 36 holes after rain delayed the completion of the second round until yesterday.
Holten is the best of the Kiwis in a share of 15th place on 139, five-under par after two rounds. He followed his first round three-under 69 with 70 in the second round.
His former Eisenhower teammate Chun added a one-over 73 to his opening round 69 to be at two-under par in a tie for 50th while Iles, who already has his Australasian Tour card, was the best of the New Zealanders yesterday with a three-under 69. He is one shot behind Chun in a share of 68th spot.
Waikato's Brad Shilton shot a two-over 74 to be one-over and missed the cut for the top 100 players by just one shot.
Australian Brad Kennedy led after two rounds on 13-under par, a shot ahead of the 2004 qualifying school champion Lee Sung-man.
Players started their third round late in the afternoon at the Palm Resort course in Jahor and will complete this morning along with the fourth round.
