New Zealand golfer Phil Tataurangi started in style at the second-tier Nationwide Tour tournament in North Carolina yesterday. He shot a 4-under 67 to be three shots off the pace in a share of 10th at the Rex Hospital Open.
Americans Tom Carter, Kyle Thompson and Michael Letzig share the lead. New Zealanders Grant Waite and Michael Long had rounds of 68 and 74 respectively. But in Memphis Craig Perks had another horror day on the PGA Tour at the St Jude Championship. He shot a first-round 85 then withdrew.
