New Zealand golfer Phil Tataurangi has notched his best showing of the 2009 Nationwide Tour season with an eighth at the Forth Smith Classic in the United States this morning (NZT).
Tataurangi began the day in a three-way share of second place, but was unable to reproduce his hot opening round form when he shot a sparkling eight under-par 62 in the Arizona event.
He slotted three birdies this morning but bogeys on the 10th and 14th holes blotted his round and left him three shots behind the winner, American Jason Enloe.
Enloe who started the day in a share for fifth, signed for a 65 which took him to a 15-under par total of 265 for the tournament.
Another New Zealander, Brad Iles, shot even-par 70 in his final round which dropped him from 24th into a tie for 31st on 276.
