Vijay Singh of Fiji ended a victory drought of over 10 months today by winning the Barclays Classic golf tournament by two shots from Australian Adam Scott.
Singh, who began the day one stroke off the pace, posted a three-under-par round of 68 for a total of 10-under 274 to win for the third time in his career at Westchester Country Club.
The victory was worth $1,035,000 ($1,654,676) to world No 4 Singh, who triumphed at Westchester in 1993 for his first US PGA Tour victory, and again in 1995.
It was the 29th career victory on the US Tour for Singh, whose last win came at the Buick Classic last July.
Next week the world's top players travel down the road to Winged Foot Golf Club for the 106th US Open championship.
