More than 30 teams have signalled their plans to play in the first international schools golf challenge in Christchurch in April.
Entries have been received from Australia, South Africa and New Zealand schools for the 72-hole tournament to be played over four days. Perth's Como College and Rotorua Boys' High School, both regarded internationally as outstanding golf nurseries, have confirmed entries.
Tournament director Roger Carroll says the response has been exceptional.
"Not only have we had a huge amount of international interest, we have also already had submissions from at least three interested parties to stage future tournaments," he said.
