There may be one downside to the revamped New Zealand Golf Open.
The Open has a new major sponsor, Blue Chip Financial Solutions, to go with a new start date at the end of November.
However, former professional golfer Greg Turner says the date clashes with the PGA Tour school qualifying finals.
Turner says although New Zealand players could miss out on the Open, it will not be a bad thing in the long run.
He says if the country has a host of players at the Tour school it will affect the 2006 field, but in the long term it will benefit the tournament.
