KEY POINTS:
Graham departs from the job he first took up in 2004, saying part of the reason he is stepping down is to achieve a better work-life balance.
He says he has enjoyed the challenges of the job, but it has also been extremely demanding on family and personal time.
However, his resignation may not come as a surprise to some. Rumours have been circulating for the past couple of months that his time was coming to an end at New Zealand Golf, following the $500,000 loss incurred by the New Zealand Golf Open two years ago, and the dramas of finding sponsors for this year's event.
New Zealand Golf chairman Philip Hassall says the board is sad to see Graham go but understands his position. He says it has been a tough three years with the organisation going through massive change.
Philip Hassall says Larry Graham has overseen the amalgamation of the men's and women's organisations, launched a new brand for New Zealand Golf and also introduced a series of new sponsors to the game.
He says Graham has also agreed to be available to assist in the completion of the sponsorship arrangements and new initiatives that are currently in progress.
