The women's team have drawn the bye for the opening day of the tournament at Royal Johannesburg Golf Club and have decided on a day of sightseeing. The Kiwis are happy with conditions, which are a lot like Australian courses.
"It's absolutely beautiful here. The greens are quite fast but we are very lucky to have local caddies who work on this course all the time and are helping us with reads, which is fantastic.
Coach Susan Farron and Carroll have not decided on their team for their first round tomorrow. They are pleased with the form of US-based Taupo golfer Tammy Clelland, who makes just her second appearance for New Zealand and replaces fellow US-based player Natasha Krishna, who was unable to get leave from her university obligations.
Penny Smith and Dasom Lee are the remaining members of the Queen Sirikit Cup trio and the team also includes North Harbour's Yeon Song Kim and 14-year-old New Zealand amateur champion Larissa Eruera (Auckland) who makes her international debut.
