Tauranga golfer Brad Iles bowed out in the quarter-finals of the Canadian Amateur Championships in Nova Scotia yesterday.
Iles won his second-round clash against Canadian Rick Blair 3 and 2 but was edged 2 and 1 by another Canadian, Ryan Lecuyer, in the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile Mathew Holten and Mark Purser struggled in windy conditions on the second round of the Singapore Open Amateur Championships yesterday.
Holten (Te Aroha) fired 75 in the second round for a 36-hole total of 148, six-over, while Purser (Hamilton) followed a 79 with a 73 to be a further four shots behind his team-mate.
