Title holder Retief Goosen of South Africa cruised into a three-shot halfway lead at the China Masters golf tournament yesterday thanks to an imperious seven-under-par 65.
New Zealand's Michael Campbell scored a 68, which puts him in equal second place, three shots behind Goosen in the US$300,000 ($460,000) event.
First round leader Lu Wen-teh of Chinese Taipei shot a 69 to remain even with Campbell.
World No 7 Goosen overcame a stuttering outward nine at Yalong Bay Golf Club before coming home in 30.
His back nine included four birdies and a superb eagle at his last hole for a two-day total of 15-under-par 129.
