New Zealand golfer Josh Geary's hopes of playing on the PGA Tour next year suffered a dent when he finished tied for 42nd in the latest event on the Nationwide Tour.
Geary carded a final round of 71 at the News Sentinel Open at Farragut, Tennessee to end on nine-under par, 12 shots behind the winner, American Kirk Triplett.
The Tauranga 26-year-old has slipped to 52nd on the tour's order of merit with only the top 25 automatically qualifying to play on the PGA Tour in 2012
Rotorua's Danny Lee lies 11th on the money list, dropping one place after missing the cut, his third failure to make the field for the weekend in succession.
Fellow New Zealanders Steven Alker, Tim Wilkinson and Brad Iles also missed the cut as did Mark Brown at the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles in Scotland and David Smail and Richard Lee at the Vana H Cup at Keya Golf Club in Japan.
