The draw is out for the 2006 World Match Play golf championships, with top seed Michael Campbell up against a little-known Englishman in the first round.
The former US Open champion has drawn Simon Khan in the opening match of the mega-rich tournament, which is played over 36 holes.
Despite the presence of the world number one, New Zealander Campbell is the top seed, having won the event last year. The event gets underway on Thursday night (NZ time) at the Wentworth course in Surrey.
The field is made up of just 16 golfers battling for a $3 million first prize, which is the highest in the history of US and European golf.
World number one Tiger Woods takes on fellow American Shaun Micheel in the first round. Woods is bidding to extend his tournament winning streak to six.
Over notable players in the field include Ernie Els, Jim Furyk, Adam Scott, Retief Goosen and Colin Montgomerie.
There is no sign of either Vijay Singh or Phil Mickelson in the so-called elite field of 16.
The Match Play is followed by the Ryder Cup at County Kildare in Ireland.
"With the Ryder Cup set for the following week, the 36-hole match play format at Wentworth will be good preparation and we will all be looking for some confidence-boosting wins," said Woods.
If Michael Campbell gets through his first round match, he'll meet either David Howell or Colin Montgomerie next.
The 8-time European number one Montgomerie is involved in a tantalising all-British first-round clash with Howell, the current Order of Merit leader.
