New Zealand golfer Michael Campbell had to settle for a share of third place at the US$5.5 million ($7.91 million) Target World Challenge in the United States today.
The US Open champion carded a closing round of one-over-par 73 to finish on 12-under 276 to be four strokes behind the winner, Englishman Luke Donald.
Campbell, who equalled the course record when shooting 63 at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California, last Friday, began today one shot behind the third round leader, Darren Clarke, of Northern Ireland.
He still won about $445,000 despite struggling.
Campbell could not get on a run, trading two birdies for two bogeys on the outward nine before giving two shots back to the course on the way home, either side of a birdie on the par-five 13th.
Clarke was second on 14-under 274 after posting 72, while Donald had the day's low of 64, including 31 in the back nine, to shoot 16-under 272.
