KEY POINTS:
Michael Campbell has continued his steady slip down the world golf rankings, and is 59th this week.
The top-ranked New Zealander, who has not played regularly this season, was 22nd at the start of the year.
The next highest New Zealander, David Smail, is 135th.
Australian Nathan Green, who won the New Zealand Open at Gulf Harbour last year, is 98th.
Campbell, who has just been appointed ambassador of the New Zealand Open, to be staged at the privately owned Hills Golf Club near Queenstown in November-December, jumped from 89th to 23rd when he won the US Open in 2005.
The rankings have been dominated by Tiger Woods.
